Pierce is on the run from Dorian, the psychopath that kept her locked up in a vampire compound for most of her life. She has a ten-year-old brat in tow, who escaped with her, is dealing with an opioid addiction forced on her by her captor, and has convinced herself she suffers from a number of social anxieties that contribute to her paranoia and panic attacks.
For Pierce, life on the run is difficult, but with Dorian out of the picture, it’s never been better.
“Protected” by her excessive facial piercings, which she wears like armor, Pierce deals with all of the above by chatting with two imaginary characters from an old 1945 classic movie in her head. Where some people have conscience or courage to keep them going, Pierce has Mildred and Veda Pierce.
All Pierce’s “quirks” and “disorders” take a back seat when two men, probably hired by Dorian, finally catch up to her. Free on Kindle.
