Jane Digby’s Diary

“As the depth of truth of one’s life can only be penned upon the pages of a diary, Jane Digby leads us through her passionate life . . . A wonderful piece of historical fiction that will delight your senses as well as your heart.” – Peggy Lee Sprague, Author of The Truth Hunters series

Based on a true story . . .

Bright, beautiful, and bold, Jane Digby led a remarkable life. Born to privilege in 1807 at Dorset, England, she soon scandalized Europe with her reckless pursuit of freedom. She sacrificed home, family, and respectability for her passions. Kings, princes, barons, brigands, lords, and sheikhs were among her lovers. A gifted artist and musician, as well as a superb horsewoman, she spoke several languages, read widely, wrote eloquently, and embraced all manner of culture and travel.

An amusing, thoughtful, and moving work of historical fiction, Jane Digby’s Diary offers a compelling account of the life of a woman who truly lived all for love. In the series Jane tells her story in diary form, as if she is speaking to a friend, creating an intimate and compulsively readable look at her life and her times. Will she find the true love and freedom she so desires? There is only one way to find out. Come join her on her path to a life well lived.

“Told in fictional diary form, this story based on the real life of a free-thinking, passionate woman who scandalized high-born society with her escapades is beautifully written and swept me into her world . . . An unexpected treat.” – Kristy Dark

He masterfully moves between past and present timelines, weaving fictitious events with historical facts. Kessler creates a tale of mystery, intrigue, and suspense with a possible paranormal twist.

Set in Berlin in 2000 and during the battle of Berlin in 1945, the novel’s main protagonist, Berlin District Attorney Kurt Becker, sees a Face in the Night. The face keeps reappearing, and he thinks he is hallucinating. His life and career take a further unexpected detour when he discovers illegal campaign funds linked to a flawed Berlin construction project. The project becomes his worst nightmare. Site digging unearths a secret Nazi bunker and SS operation. Then, workers discover “Nazi Wonder Weapons.”

An SS division defended these weapons to the last man. Was this why the Nazi leadership predicted a final victory? Were famous scientist Nikola Tesla’s stolen “Death Ray” plans used? What links a mysterious SS officer to Kurt and his villa? As Kurt’s past investigations, family problems, substance abuse, and insomnia haunt him, his life unravels. Things no longer are what they appear to be and take a turn for the worse when politicos try to blame him for the campaign finance scandal. Is someone out to get him?

Cracking of the Mask

Cracking of the Mask
Everything had been planned and executed to perfection. Where was the satisfaction, then? Why was happiness always so elusive? Zenon McClow, a businessman with a checkered past, flees the United States, hiding first in Ecuador and then in the tropical paradise of New Caledonia. Plagued by burning existential questions, he begins to write down his life story while on the remote Isle of Pines. After failing to find relief, he turns to penning The Mask, a historical novel set in the mysterious land of ancient Thrace. Zenon’s fiction endeavor is inspired by Evmondia, a kind-hearted Bulgarian girl living in New York who introduced him to the colorful world of the Thracians. He bases his story on events from the 4th century BCE, a time when Philip II of Macedonia, the father of Alexander ‘the Great,’ endangered Thrace. In Zenon’s tale, a young Greek scholar, Trysimachus, sets out on a perilous quest to the court of the Thracian king Ketriporis. As Trysimachus is forced to confront his own prejudices and fears, Ketriporis must deal with the increasing threats to his rule…Beset by perils of his own—amidst ill health—Zenon re-examines The Mask, convinced it contains clues to help him resolve his troubled past. What will The Mask reveal to Zenon?

An epic tale of adventure, battles, and political intrigues—but also of self-discovery, transformation, and personal healing—Cracking of the Mask brings together two worlds and two eras that, at first glance, have little in common. Readers will experience the revival of an intriguing ancient culture as they embark on a journey in which they will face the everlasting conflict between our personas and who we are beneath the masks. $2.99 on Kindle.
